256^3 is closer to 17 million, but quite easy actually if one lets the 
computer do the work. It will take some time of course, but to get just 
a list of those addresses responding to pings can be further parsed for 
a more detailed analysis of each responding host:

nmap -sn 44.0.0.0/8
