Hi Doug,

 

The Dynadish will work fine for you if you do not have an excessive distance to shoot.  I’d say for 20 to 25 km or less, it should be fine (as long as you have perfect visual line of sight).  I’m doing a 23 mile (about 38km) shot from my house to Gold, and am using the 2 foot dish which gives me at least 5db better signal than the Dynadish. So the longer the shot, the bigger/better the dish you’ll need. My suggestion of 25km is just a personal “rough estimate” of a reasonable maximum estimate. It doesn’t hurt to get more than the minimum, so consider the 2 foot dish regardless.

 

The one other critically important piece of information is that no matter what you order, make absolutely certain you get the International version as opposed to the US version. You need to be able to do some settings that only the international version can support.  It is also sometimes referred to as the ROW (Rest of World) version.  Not sure how that might impact you ordering in BC, just keep it in mind.
