Steve,

I believe there has been some work recently (perhaps not published yet), on providing a writeup specifically on how to contribute to web site updates. Perhaps one of the folks who has been working on that will chime in on if it’s ready for a beta tester.

With regards to the link for web chat. I just checked, though it’s not entirely intuitive, the password checkbox is an option, but is not required. It does seem to want you to supply a username, which in the past we prepopulated for you, before you can actually launch the chat.
